Photography Mentorship in Ohio: Turn Your Passion Into a Business That Fits Your Life

When I first picked up a camera, photography was a hobby. I loved capturing the little moments, especially as I began having children of my own. Over time, that hobby grew into something I never could have imagined—a photography business that provides an income for my family while still allowing me to prioritize the things that matter most to me.
And now, I want to help other photographers do the same.
If you're an aspiring or growing photographer in Northeast Ohio—or even across the country—my photography mentorships are designed to help you gain confidence behind the camera, understand the business side of photography, and create a business that works with your life rather than taking it over.
Photography Mentorship Designed Around You
There isn't one perfect formula for building a photography business.
Maybe you just purchased your first camera and aren't sure where to begin. Maybe you've been photographing families for a few years but struggle with pricing. Maybe newborn posing makes you nervous. Or perhaps your business is growing, but you're overwhelmed trying to balance clients, editing, marketing, and your family.
That's why my mentorships are personalized.
Before we meet, I'll have you complete a questionnaire so I can learn about your business, your experience, your goals, and the areas where you feel stuck. Then we can spend our time focusing on what will actually help you move forward.
60-Minute Virtual Photography Mentorship
My virtual mentorship is perfect for photographers who want focused, one-on-one help without traveling to my Wadsworth, Ohio studio.
For 60 minutes, I'm an open book.
We can talk about pricing, marketing, client management, editing, studio organization, software, workflow, work-life balance—or whatever questions have been sitting in the back of your mind.
Investment: $350
1:1 In-Person Photography Mentorship in Wadsworth, Ohio
If you're a visual learner, my in-person mentorship gives you the opportunity to see an actual photography session unfold from beginning to end.
I'll arrange a model session and you'll join me to watch how I prepare, interact with clients, work with lighting, pose, and move through a complete session.
Depending on what you'd most like to learn, we can focus on a studio or outdoor session.
My goal isn't simply to tell you what I do. I want you to see it, ask questions, and leave feeling more confident implementing what you've learned in your own photography business.
Investment: $700
What Can We Cover During Your Photography Mentorship?
Finding Your "Why"
Before we talk about pricing, cameras, editing, or marketing, I believe it's important to understand why you're building this business in the first place.
Your business should support the life you're called to live—not become your entire life.
We'll talk about your goals, priorities, and the foundation you want to build your business upon.
Turning Your Photography Hobby Into a Business
There's a big difference between loving photography and running a profitable photography business.
I'll share what I've learned while growing Jennyfer Marie Photography, including topics such as pricing, client management, photography software, project management, marketing, and creating systems that make your business easier to run.
Creating a Smooth Client & Session Workflow
What happens after someone contacts you?
We'll walk through the client experience from that first inquiry all the way through gallery delivery.
Depending on your goals, we can discuss marketing, booking, preparing clients for their session, studio setup, outdoor and studio lighting, posing, editing, and gallery delivery.
Balancing Photography, Motherhood & Life
This may be one of the subjects I'm most passionate about.
I love photography and I'm incredibly thankful for my business—but photography isn't the most important thing in my life.
I'm a wife and a mom of three, and I've intentionally worked to build a business that allows me to pursue something I love while still being present for my family and the other things God has called me to.
I'm certainly not perfect at balancing everything, but I've learned strategies and boundaries that have helped me tremendously.
If you're trying to grow a photography business without allowing it to consume your life, I would love to talk about that with you.
Newborn, Family & Photography Business Mentoring in Northeast Ohio
As a newborn, milestone and family photographer, I especially love helping photographers who want to grow in these areas.
Whether you're looking for a newborn photography mentor, family photography mentorship, photography business coaching, or hands-on photography training in Northeast Ohio, we'll tailor our time together around what will benefit you most.
My studio is located in Wadsworth, Ohio, making in-person mentorships convenient for photographers throughout Medina, Akron, Cleveland, Canton and surrounding Northeast Ohio communities.
Virtual mentorships are available no matter where you live.
You Don't Have to Figure It All Out Alone
I've invested in mentorships throughout my own photography journey, and being able to learn directly from another photographer has been incredibly valuable.
That's why I want these sessions to be a place where you can ask the questions you've been afraid to ask, see how another photographer actually runs her business, and leave with practical steps you can begin implementing right away.
Bring your questions.
Bring the areas where you're struggling.
Bring the big dreams you're not quite sure how to accomplish yet.
I'm an open book, and I would love to help you take the next step.
