"... and the truth will set you free."

John 8:32 is filled with hope.

We are created to desire relationships with each other. In the same way, Christ desires a relationship with us. Christ wants us to know Him on the deepest level.

What does knowing Christ (Truth) look like?

The best way to get to know Christ is to read his words. The bible is the living word that can speak to each of us right where we are. When I first became a christian, I was not sure where to begin, but all Christ was looking for was the fact I had an open heart and He began speaking to me through different scriptures.

The bible is filled with so much truth. You may have heard the saying, "It's not about the destination, it is about the journey." The more we spend time in His word the more we will get to know who He is. Getting to know Christ, will bring us closer to being like Christ, which is who we are called to be.

"Be imitators of God , therefore, as dearly children, and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." - Ephesians 5:1-2

The second part of John 8:32 tells us that once we know the truth, the truth will set us free! We will be free of our sins and can rest in the fact that we will have eternal life with Jesus. Jesus has paid the price for our sins. All we have to do is accept his free gift.

CHALLENGE

Get to know Christ! Choose to spend more time in God's word this week and experience his truth. Even 5 minutes of spending time with the Lord can allow you to experience the freedom he has to offer you.
